About the Festival of Voices
Festival of Voices transforms our towns into singing cities every July. As Australia's premier celebration of the voice, Festival of The Voices attracts thousands of singers, choristers and music lovers, for the chance to hear harmonies soaring in Concert Halls, Theatres and public spaces across Tasmania. The Festival is proud to bring some of the most respected singers from across Australia and overseas to our shores. Since 2004 the Festival has presented a remarkable program of performances and - uniquely - vocal workshops run by critically acclaimed artists, creating a Festival experience like no other.
The Festival of Voices offers a diverse range of concerts featuring the best in international and national talent as well as performances by our many touring and workshop choirs. FOV concerts are unique offering exciting opportunities to be up close and personal with amazing solo and ensemble performances.
Join us as we celebrate the power of the voice and community spirit. The Festival Bonfire and Big Sing has become an iconic mid-winter tradition in Hobart. It begins with a Candlelight Procession along Salamanca Place for the ritual lighting of the fire.
The Festival of Voices produces a workshop program that includes masterclasses, multi-day workshops and short courses for singers of all ages. Singers come from across Australia to learn new repertoire and skills, work with exceptional teachers, meet fellow vocalists and perform in remarkable heritage venues.
